OFFICINE DELL'ACQUA

In Laveno Mombello the Water Workshops Foundation has transformed the old railway warehouses into a vibrant and innovative cultural center, born from an urban regeneration project

This unique venue celebrates the deep connection between the lake and its community, reviving the local nautical tradition through a museum, workshops, and educational activities.

The heart of the project is the Museum of the Water Workshops, which houses a valuable collection of historic vessels, shipbuilding tools, and examples of maritime craftsmanship. Each object tells a story, making the visit a true journey through time.

The museum itinerary opens with the Sala Virginia, where you can discover the curiosities and traditions related to the historic boats of the area. We continue in the Barcat Hall, which combines the museum exhibition with the operational laboratory of the Foundation. It showcases examples of historic vessels and the history of the shipyards that have graced the lake shores.

The experience is completed by the courses and workshops offered in the wood workshop, a creative space designed to rediscover and pass on the techniques of nautical craftsmanship.

Today, the Officine dell'Acqua are a point of reference for those who wish to learn about the nautical heritage of Lake Maggiore and enjoy an immersive experience of culture, tradition, and innovation.
