BODINI MUSEUM

The Floriano Bodini Civic Museum in Gemonio is dedicated to one of the most important artists of our region, Floriano Bodini.

It houses the permanent collection of his works in an 18th-century farmhouse renovated with local materials. Located right in the center of town, it represents the artistic hub of the town, thanks to the exhibitions of Italian and international artists, workshops, conferences, and cultural events it hosts every year.

Immediately after entering the courtyard, in the open space around which the building develops, a striking bronze statue representing a woman crying over a corpse catches your eye: it is the Lament over the murdered, a bronze work from 1961 that was extremely important for the artist's career, inspired by the movement of Existential Realism, like the other sculptures exhibited in the courtyard at the back of the building.

Opening hours:
Saturday and Sunday 10.30-12.30 / 15.00-18.00 - Monday to Friday by appointment.
Guided tours are also available on weekdays by reservation.
